Hungary's largest energy storage facility is currently under construction near Szolnok, with Chinese company Huawei involved in the solar energy project. The contract was signed in February, with MAVIR Ltd. 5 billion. IPP MET Group has put a 40M/80MWh BESS in Hungary into commercial operation, deployed using technology from Huawei. The 2-hour battery energy storage system (BESS) is the largest in Hungary, Switzerland-headquartered MET Group said, deployed at its Dunamenti thermal power plant in Százhalombatta. One of Hungary's largest battery energy storage facilities has been completed in Szolnok.
