Zn-Ni batteries have a practical energy density of up to 140 Wh/kg or 300 Wh/L and are capable of approximately 500 charge-discharge cycles [5, 10]. The battery demonstrated stable operation at 200 mA cm−2 over 250 cycles, highlighting its potential for energy storage applications. 5% at 40 mA cm –2 and operated for 400 cycles with an average Coulombic efficiency of. A new approach developed by researchers at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) involving a porous organic polymer has significantly extended the lifespan of zinc-ion batteries. There are no longer any companies commercializing flow batteries, Gelion (Australia) have non-flow technology that they are developing and EOS Energy Enterprises (US) are commercializing their non-flow. Our goal at the Flow Battery Research Collective (FBRC) during the past year has been to develop and manufacture a flow battery kit that can be used to study flow batteries at a small scale in a low cost yet reproducible manner. Today I want to discuss all the problems we have found when attempting. These batteries have become some of the most commercially successful batteries to date, commonly recognized as AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V batteries in everyday use.
