The Battery Balancer will draw a current of up to 0,7 A from the battery (or parallel connected batteries) with the highest voltage. The resulting charge current differential will ensure that all batteries will converge t o the same state of charge. If needed, several balancers can be paralleled. Once in the software it is ok, but to get it to connect the first time took a while. You need to supply a voltage 5 volts HIGHER than the battery to get it to switch on. Until then, it seems completely dead. And if you disconnect the pack, you need to do it again. With a full charged battery, my 58.8 volts CC CV charger would not do it.

Learn MoreIt measures the battery bank voltage and also the individual battery voltages. The battery balancer activates as soon as the battery bank is being charged and the charge voltage has reached more than 27.3V. At that moment, the battery balancer will start to measure and compare the voltages of both batteries.
The Battery Balancer(s) must be installed on a well-ventilated vertical surface close to the batteries (but, due to possible corrosive gasses, not above the batteries!) In case of series-parallel connection, the midpoint interconnecting cables must be sized to at least carry the current that arises when one battery becomes open-circuited.
The good news is that balance leads are very small wires that solder easily to nickel. So, first, tin the balance lead by simply melting a small amount of solder onto it. Then do the same thing to the area of the battery pack you plan on soldering to. This will ensure that the soldering process is quick when you actually go to attach the wire.
The good news is that although it can be a somewhat time-consuming process, it's relatively easy to do. To wire balance leads for an active balancer and a BMS, all you have to do is attach the balance leads in order starting with the most negative balance lead and the most negative point on the battery pack.
Connect the ground wire to the negative side of the battery. Take the next wire to the ground wire on the plug and connect to the next cell in the pack that would be the + side of the negative terminal. For each wire, continue this until the last wire is connected to the last positive cell that connects to your terminal.
When the voltage over a string of two batteries increases to more than 27,3V (during charging) the green LED will turn on, indicating that the balancer is on. When on, a voltage deviation of more than 50 mV will start the balancing process and at 100 mV one of the two orange LEDs will turn on.
